Watched in 2013
Looking back at what I watched for Taiwan dramas in 2013 alone make quite a long list.. Let's look at what I watched, finished, unfinished, recommend, and un-recommend during 2013.
Happy 300 days (遇見幸福300天), I finished this drama since I'm on holiday at the time but I would not recommend it since it is not something that I would like to brag or being hype about. This drama reminds me of 1mom 3dads from Korea. This drama just did not leave good/deep impression on me.. Rate 4/10
King flower (金大花的華麗冒險), to be honest I did not make it to the last one episode since I did not catch the live at that time so I watched the re-run but I read the comment beforehand.. I just did not like the ending.. Sorry!! But well overall it is a good drama, I would recommend it if you guys have time to spend and love the cast, rate 7/10.

A Hint Of You (美味的想念) ep 1-40 recap part 1
All of you may know that I start to do recap on
this drama, mid way through the broadcast. So many events have occurred during
that time. And thus my readers may not understand what have actually happened.
So I'm going to recap 40eps in one post into a few part. And I'll make recap on all episode
once I'm free.
- Qing You work as a chef at Long Yi Bai, a quick restaurant that used to belong to her father. The restaurant is being run by her uncle, untie and her friend You Zhen Zhen (Ivy Shao).. Tian Hao frequently gives a helping hand.
- Zhai Yu with his co-worker Lian Wen Xiang (Zhou Kai Wen) visit Long Yi Bai for late dinner or supper.. They order friend rice and when being served and taste, they both comment that the friend rice taste like oil fried rice. Which angers every staff at the restaurant. Zhai Yu then told Qing you to come to Hana to have a taste of their fried rice.
- Distributed by the comment made by Zhai Yu, Qing You along with Zhen Zhen enters Hana and amazed by Hana interior. Zai Yu sees them and brings them to VIP room and serves them with Hana fried rice.
- Both Qing You and Zhen Zhen give a try and say that the fried rice taste amazing. But for Qing You the taste of the fried rice remind her of her father. As he used to cook fried rice for Qing You when she was small.
- Qing You told and beg Zai Yu to tell Hana head chef to teach her how to make this fried rice. As the taste remind her of her father and want to have those memories back. Little did she know that Zai Yu is the head chef and Zhai Yu says that the head chef did not want to meet her.
- A special customer booked the whole Long Yi Bai and request a three meal made from lobster. Which Qing You rarely make since it is very expensive. The hunts for fresh lobster go! Qing you went to the market and she find the lobster she want but at that time Zai Yu also want the same lobster (last one). So the seller of the lobster says that let the lobster choose whom it will go to.. *I think* it went to Qing You. They bump into each other on their way home and their groceries box got switch. The customer says that the food is far from what Qing You father used to make, thus she asked if the customer recognize her dad. He says yes, he used to be Qing You father loyal customer also Qing You father used to be Hana Head chef. This information is new to the family too.
- Finding out the groceries box being switch, Qing You bring the box to Hana to exchange it with her box. She went into the kitchen and she's amused with Hana kitchen as it has everything that a pro kitchen needs. So she took a video of the kitchen and when she's filming Zai Yu enter the kitchen half naked (shower room located behind the kitchen) and unpurpsoselly being filmed by Qing You.
- In exchange for the video Zhai Yu agree that he will let his head chef to teach her how to make the friend rice. One day he comes back to Long Yi Bai to make the fried rice and Qing You asked why it is him? And he says that head chef is busy.. He cooked and Qing You take notes. Qing You, uncle and untie take a taste of the fried rice and says that it was exactly the same as what Qing You father used to make.
- Valentines day is approaching, the whole Long Yi Bai think of events to boost the customer and Qing You suggest making special menu " Roasted Chicken". Val's day before going to the poultry man Qing You stop by a chinaware shop. And there she meets with Zhai Yu again. Shocked Zai Yu drop a bowl and Qing You try to catch it and in the process Qing You hurt her hand.
- Zhai Yu end up using Qing You truck to drive her to the poultry man site. Since Qing You cannot use her hand and the breeder hurt his back, Zhai Yu have no other choice other than catching the chicken himself.
- On the way down the mountain the truck flip over because of a small rock. The chicken fee all over and even worse it starts to rain. No other choice except to wait for the bust that is scheduled at 22.00.They both end up not able to work at their own restaurant during the busiest day.
- Next day, Zhai Yu come to rescue at Long Yi Bai. The customer of Long Yi Bai gets very angry because they 've wait for quite a time and Zhai Yu says that he will cooked a special fried rice and hope that all customer will be a bit patience today.
- The popularity of Long Yi Bai boost as Zhai Yu take over the kitchen. He works at Long Yi Bai for a few good days and leaves his position temporary at Hana. But then Zai Yu father, Fu Chang Nian (Fu Lei) find out. Zai Yu is being removed from his position at Hana, because of his recklessness of not making sure his subordinate Jin Zhong Gang (Qiu Jun Ru) do his job properly. Jin Gang being fired out.
- Looking for new competent chef to replace Jin Gang. Qing You and Jin Gang participate in this competition. Zai Yu state a few rule with his dad: 1. fair play anyone can join the competition including Qing You 2. if Qing you pass then he can become the head chef again or if he fails then he'll be kicked out. Man Wan Ayi teach Qing You how to cooked the fried rice like Hana one.. and finally Qing You excel in making one that taste exactly the same.
- Competition D-day many chef comes and compete, the dish is put in random Jin Gang is qualified so did Qing You. Zai Yu become the head chef of Hana again.
- One day at Hana, a food critic come with his little daughter wearing white gown. He always give Hana 4star never 5. Wang Mei xiang (Huang Wei Ting), Hana waiter accidentally spill red wine over the food critic daughter dress. The daughter cry and Qing You come into rescue by performing some magic by applying salt to the lil daughter dress and well it work. The daughter says that she wants cake for dessert.
- Thus they make one, they end up with carrot cake that the lil daughter did not like. But the cake did not have any carrot taste and the lil daughter eat it happily. Finally, Hana ends up with 5stars restaurant.
- Hana get interviewed and live broadcast. A letter come from Marco (Cherry Hsia) a very mysterious chef. A duet is being proposed to find the best chef.
- D-day come finally Marco is going to show his face for the first time. and it ends up that Marco is a female. There's three challenge: 1st testing wine and determine wine and use the wine and make a food out of it. From here they know that Qing You have a very good tasting buds and they identify that the wine is very scare there's only 3 bottles, Mouton 1945. Hana won the 1st challenge. 2nd making the exact food like what the other party did. Hana food actually test better but then it is not the same and did not match with the category thus Marco win the 2nd challenge. 3rd making dessert Hana make bubble tea popping pearl cake while Marco prepare the winning 5star tepanyaki fried ice cream dessert. Both taste excellent but then Marco declare she lose the challenge when she hear from Qing You the reason they make the BT popping pearl, Marco mother.
- Marco come into good term with Zai Yu and Qing You, inviting them for dinner at a private yacht. Hopping that she can be a cupid for Zai Yu and Qing you. Qing You first time dress up in dress *finally* and Zai Yu is amaze by her. Dinner done Zai Yu and Qing You went to the deck and dance and well Qing You trip over and she fell into the sea. Marco is not there anymore when the incident happened. So Qing You and Zai Yu is being trapped until the next day when the rescuer Marco send rescue them.

A Hint Of You (美味的想念) Ep 41 recap
As continuation to the previous episode, Huai An wake up from his hangover in an unfamiliar room which have a photo of a girl name Christine.
Tian Hao go for a ride but somehow end up passing by Hana. Qing You calls him and he congratulate her for being in relationship as there is someone who will look over her, makes her happy and this is what he hope the most for. Qing you says that she is very sorry for not telling him, but it is just that she did not know how to tell them. Tian Hao told her not to be sorry as he just hope she just be happy as he shed a tears.
As they are parting Tian Hao just told Qing You that just because she is in relationship now she should not forget this (Tian Hao) best buddy. And to bring Zai Yu to his Love Cafe.
Inside Hana kitchen, Qing You is not at heart and Zai Yu notice it. Thus he move his chopping board across Qing You. Qing You told Zai Yu not to do that or else she won't be able to concentrate but Zai Yu reply her that I can watch you but still concentrate on what I am doing.. *awww*
Finally, Qing You told Zai Yu about Tian Hao and she feels wrong because Tian Hao know the metter from Uncle not from her as they are best friend. Zai Yu told her that she did not have to feel wrong as feelings cannot be determined and by Tian Hao congratulating them that means that Tian Hao have think open minded and Qing You do not have to care as she only have one heart and that one heart can only care about a person which is me (Zai Yu). and then Qing You told him that he's very jealous type and person and since Qing You know that Zai Yu is a bit mad at her she offer a series of things that she's willing to do: 1. buy him lunch/dinner 2. cleaning his office 3. accompany him to anywhere and he give in to the last option.. hehe
Zai Yu is very good in utilising the situation they end up eating, drinking coffee and went to the mall. Lastly he asked her what she wants and she list all kinds of things that got to do with foods but Zai Yu told her that he gonna gift her gift that a boyfriend usually give to his girlfriend "PERFUME". While picking the perfume and have some skin-ship, Song Yu Xin (Cindy Song) watch and throw a fit. (ps: Yu Xin and Zai Yu, best friend since small and Yu Xin have a crush on Zai yu). Yu Xin went home and throw a fit at her step mom/ Man Wan Ayi (Fan Wen Lin) for letting this all happened e.g.: letting Qing You enter Hana, etc,. Asking her why she did that, is it because Yu xin herself never respect her and asked her stepmom if she is happy now as she have nothing left? and Stepmom told her that this thing could not happened they must have come into some misunderstanding as she believe that Qing You will not lie to her. Yu Xin asked her is wether she is her daughter or Qing You is her daughter?
Zai Yu hold Qing You as they walk out from Hana and Qing You speaks her mind and protest about the action. But Zai Yu said that he might be the head chef at Hana but outside he is Zai Yu and also Qing You boyfriend.They BAM into Man Wan Ayi, greeting her but she's not happy at all and they both quickly pull her hand away. Both Man Wan Ayi and Qing You end up having a walk at the park. Man Wan Ayi question Qing You so on and so for but Qing you says that that they when she told her that enter Hana is to learn to cook and will not fall in love with Zai Yu she reply those genuinely and never think that there will be today with Zai Yu. Qing You told Man Wan Ayi that through these period of time their memories become very precious and when she told her that time that she will not fall in love with Zai Yu because she have not understand what she wanted and what kind of person Zai yu is. And since now she have figure it out she did not want to loose him anymore (heart attack events).
Man Wan Ayi asked Qing You why Yu Xin can become a heart doctor and told her that that year when Yu Xin was 6yrs old she recognise Zai Yu, thus have only love him and all the effort Yu Xin put is just for Zai Yu. Man Wan Ayi asked Qing You is it fair for Yu Xin, that Yu Xin 20yrs love for Zai yu compared to a few months of Qing You? Qing You reply that she just did not know that Yu Xin love for Zai yu is that deep. and Man Wan Ayi told her that she wish Qing You to be happy but putting down the love away that is a few mere months is easier rather than love that have been for 20years. and ask a favour that Qing You will give a change for Yu Xin to believe in love by leaving Zai Yu.
Qing You get questioned by Zai Yu directly as he realised that her eye turn a bit red. and Zai Yu asked: is it regarding our relationship or is it something to do with Yu Xin. Qing You say no to all and Zai yu demand to know what happened and well he get disturbed by work.
To A&H architecture firm office, Huai An receive text message from Yi Huan. and well some how Huai An got an invitation to meet GM of a company and it turn out to be the earlier girl, Rebecca. Rebecca ask how much he drank that day that he can be so drunk and he say that well you drink is to forget what happened right? Long story short Huai an got a challenge to finished three bottle of different alcholic drink and still be able to walk straight then he got the case.
Back to Hana, Qing You is left alone to clean up and Zai Yu come over and asked what has happend and she called him head chef and Zai Yu reply her not head chef anymore but your Zai Yu. Zai Yu demand and answer for what happen with her today and told her that even chef have to believe in each other so did lovers, in fact they need more. Qing You told him that she is just afraid that being together is the right or wrong choice. Zai Yu demand to know who think that they being together is the wrong choice. well thank's god Zai Yu got a brain to think that it must have sth to do with Yu Xin. Qing You said that she feel bad for Yu Xin for snatching Zai Yu away from her and Zai Yu told her that he never been Yu Xin and he is the one that chooses Qing You. and he told her that love cannot be forced just like Qing You can't fall in love with Tian Hao. Zai Yu also told her that they have know each other for 20yrs if he want to fall in love with her then he will have done it a long time ago, and since now he's with Qing You don't care about what other think, unless Qing You want to breakup with him. WELL Qing You say no to the idea. Zai Yu told her that Yu Xin matter he will have them sort it out.
Tian Hao come to Qing you house bearing some gift that the uncle like the most, the fish floss. Uncle find the situation awkward as Tian Hao is till being so good to them, and Tian Hao guess that the uncle feels bad because he can't give any help to Tian Hao in pursuing Qing you. Tian Hao told uncle that he will wait for Qing You after she have finished studying and excel in cooking. But uncle told Tian Hao that he feels bad about him waiting for Qing you dumbly and uncle spill the beans about Qing You is now in a relationship with Zai Yu. And uncle also hope that he will not breakdown from the news as they are still very young.

A Hint Of You (美味的想念)
A hint of you is a Taiwanese drama that air from monday-thursday at 21:00 local time.
These drama revolves around food and two groups each consist of two male and one female.
For me I like to divide this drama into like two story..
The main story of course is about our main OTP.
Fu Zai Yu (Michael Zhang) is the head chef of a well known restaurant in Taiwan. Xia Qing You (Gina Lee) just a normal girl but want to learn how to become a chef like her father from Zai Yu, since both of her parents assumed to be dead from a car accident. Sun Tian Hao (Jay Shih) owner of Love Cafe, also Qing You best friend. So basically Zai Yu did have some conflict with Qing You at the start of the drama and over time they did develop their feeling for each other, and Tian Hao whom Qing You think as a best friend turns out to have a crush on her.
The second story
Du Huai An (Danson Tang) an architect and owner of A&H architect firm. Xia Yi Huan (Yin Fu), Xia Qing You cousin. Yi Huan and Huai an have been together for almost 8 years. Du Zhen Ya (Chang Han) STG general manager, a company where Huai An used to work for after he open A&H architect firm. Zhen Ya may have fallen for Yi Huan charm as she is willing to do anything in the name of love, which remind him of what he used to be.
